The fundamental goal of target recognition and video tracking is to match target template with source image. Most matching methods are based on image intensity or multi-feature points. And the latter method is more popular for its high accuracy and small calculation. Image Registration Based on Feature Points focus on effective feature extraction of image points and paradigm. Harris corner in the image rotation  gray  noise and viewpoint change conditions  has an ideal match results  is more recent application of one feature point. This paper extract the Harris corner deviation and covariance firstly  experiments show that the two features exclusive  then applied them to image registration for the first time. A set of actual images have shown  this proposed method not only overcomes the complicated background  gray uneven distribution problems  but also pan and zoom the image has a good resistance. 2011 IEEE.

In order to overcome the distortion problem of CCD driving signals caused by signal transmission  the detail implementation of transmission of high-speed CCD driving signals based on transmission line theory is discussed. The CCD driving signals are critical to the CCD to produce high quality images. In high speed application these drivers will occupy more circuit board areas and can not be put very close to the CCD. So the driving signals must be transmitted. Because the CCD exhibits capacitive load  the driving signals distortion problem is much severe. Transmission line theory is used to analyze the problem. The method of source termination is adopted to avoid signal reflections. Meanwhile the characteristic impedance of the circuit board and the resistance of terminal resistor are designed small enough to decrease the rising and falling time of the driving signals. Experimental results show that there is no distortion of the high speed driving signals after transmission. 2011 IEEE.

It is introduced a novel imaging technique for medical diagnostic X-ray coherent scatter in this paper. A set of experimental equipment for X-ray coherent scatter imaging was set up with X-ray digital flat detector and medical diagnostic X-ray source. According to this equipment  the scatter images obtained are made of some circles with the same center. It is vital to calculate the energy template to classify the different samples. It is difficult to separate them using the traditional threshold method due to noise and overlapped shadow. In this paper  the image was transformed a binary image by using K-Means algorithm and Mathematical Morphology Methods. The effective region was extracted from the binary image inside the orthogonal energy projection space  then to calculate the centroid of rings. Consequently the curve of the energy distribution was built. The experiment results show that our method is reasonable and feasible. The technique will have wide foreground of application .Besides the imaging of human bone content  it can be used for various imaging of tissue and organs in biology. 2010 IEEE.

A new approach to assess the performance of color image fusion algorithms is proposed. The color information is fully used by this method. Quaternions are used to encode the pixels in a color image into a quaternion matrix. Local variance of the luminance layer of the color image is taken as the real part of a quaternion  then the three RGB channels of the color image are encoded into the three imaginary parts of a quaternion. The angle between the singular value feature vectors of the quaternion matrices corresponding to one of the source image and the fused image is used to measure their structural similarity. Edge information transferring is used to balance the sensitivity of the assessment methods. Experimental results show that the proposed assessment method is better consistent with the HVS than some of the state-of-the-art method. Accurate assessment results can be given by the proposed method for various of color image fusion algorithms by using the source images and the fused image. 2010 IEEE.

In order to solve the registration problem of different source image existed on aerial image fusion  algorithms based on Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) are applied as search strategy in this paper  and Alignment Metric (AM) is used as judgment. This study has realized the different source image registration of infrared and visible light with high speed  high accuracy and high reliability. Basically  with little restriction of gray level properties  a new alignment measure is applied  which can efficiently measure the image registration extent and tolerate noise well. Even more  the intelligent optimization algorithm - Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is combined to improve the registration precision and rate of infrared and visible light. Experimental results indicate that  the study attains the registration accuracy of pixel level  and every registration time is cut down over 40 percent compared to traditional method. The match algorithm based on AM  solves the registration problem that greater differences between different source images are existed on gray and characteristic. At the same time  the adoption of combining the intelligent optimization algorithms significantly improves the searching efficiency and convergence speed of the algorithms  and the registration result has higher accuracy and stability  which builds up solid foundation for different source image fusion. The method in this paper has a magnificent effect  and is easy for application and very suitable for engineering use. 2010 IEEE.

The non-uniformity phenomenon exists in each channel of multi-CCD imaging systems. The factors which lead to the problem are complex. The conventional calibrating algorithms can not consider all of these factors and have poor effects. According to the characters of multi-CCD imaging systems  a non-uniformity correction method based on the scene was proposed by adopting the traditional two-point correction theories. The correction coefficient of each channel image can be calculated via the linear relation between the two neighboring pixel lines in the two-channel images. Compared with the conventional two-point calibration and multi-point calibration methods  contrastive calibrating results were obtained. This method does not need any standard lighted image as reference source  which provides a real time way for calibrating the multi-CCD imaging systems in practical applications. 2010 IEEE.

A color transfer method is presented to give fused multiband nighttime imagery a natural daytime color appearance in a simple and efficient way. Instead of using the traditional nonlinear l space  the proposed method transfers the color distribution of the target image (daylight color image) to the source image (fused multiband nighttime imagery) in the linear YCBCR color space. The YCBCR transformation is simpler and more suitable for image fusion compared to the l conversion. The YCBCR transformation can be extended into a general formalism. And the paper mathematically proves that  for color transfer  using color spaces conforming to this general YC BCR space framework can produce same recoloring results as using the YCBCR space. Experimental results demonstrate that the YCBCR based color transfer method works surprisingly well for transferring natural color characteristics of daylight color images to false color fused multiband nighttime imagery  and moreover  can also be successfully applied to recoloring a variety of color images. 2010 SPIE.

We present a computationally efficient color image fusion algorithm for merging infrared and visible images. At the core of the proposed method is the color transfer technique based on the linear YCBCR space. The method directly uses the grayscale fused image and the difference signals of the input images to construct the source YCBCR components  then uses the statistical color transfer technique to form a color fused image that takes the target image's color characteristics. Two different strategies  which respectively employ the pixel averaging fusion scheme and the multiresolution fusion scheme as the grayscale image fusion solution  are proposed to fulfill different user needs. The simple strategy using the pixel averaging fusion scheme answers to a need of easy implementation and speed of use. And the complex strategy using the multiresolution fusion scheme answers to the high quality need of the fused products. In addition  we also describe some useful theories about color-transfer-based image fusion. Experimental results show that the proposed color image fusion algorithm can effectively produce a natural appearing "daytime-like" color fused image  and even using the pixel averaging fusion scheme to implement the grayscale fusion can also provide a pleasing result. 2010 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.
