Interline transfer CCD camera can be designed to work in time delay and integration mode similar to TDI CCD to obtain higher responsivity and spatial resolution under poor illumination condition. However it was found that outputs of some pixels were much lower than others' as interline transfer CCD camera work in TDI mode in laboratory radiometric calibration experiments. As a result photo response non-uniformity(PRNU) and signal noise ratio(SNR) of the system turned for the worse. This phenomenon's mechanism was analyzed and improved PRNU and SNR algorithms of interline transfer CCD camera were advanced to solve this problem. In this way TDI stage was used as a variant in PRNU and SNR algorithms and system performance was improved observably with few influences on use. In validation experiments the improved algorithms was applied in radiometric calibration of a camera with KAI-0340s as detector. Results of validation experiments proved that the improved algorithms could effectively improve SNR and lower PRNU of the system. At the same time characteristic of the system could be reflected better. As working in 16 TDI stages
PRUN was reduced from 2.25% to 0.82% and SNR was improved about 2%. 2010 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.

The e2v technologies' CCD sensor CCD57-10
which will be used as a detector in the Limb UV Imaging Spectrometer
is tested at first. Then the spectral responsivity calibration of the whole Imaging Spectrometer simply is described. The error analysis and the correction of the test of CCD's parameters under good repeatability and stability indicate that the properties of the CCD are suitable to the Limb UV Imaging Spectrometer. The spectral responsivity calibration and the theoretical calculation of the whole Imaging Spectrometer are within an acceptable error level. 2009 SPIE.

Zinc oxide (ZnO) films have been prepared on glass substrate in layer-by-layer mode using an atomic-layer deposition (ALD) technique
and a metal-semiconductor-metal structured photodetector has been fabricated on the ZnO films employing interdigital Au as metal contacts. The photodetector shows a cutoff wavelength at around 390 nm and has an obvious responsivity in the whole UVA spectral range. Because the response of the ZnO photodetector covers the whole UV solar irradiation that can reach the earth
the photodetector promises to be useful in monitoring UV solar irradiation to protect people from harm caused by the solar irradiation. Furthermore
the capability of preparing large-area uniform ZnO films of ALD makes it favorable for possible mass production of this kind of photodetector. 2009 American Vacuum Society.

In recent years
ZnMgO semiconductor alloys
with a direct bandgap tunable between 3.37 eV and 7.8 eV
become one of the most suitable materials for the fabrication of ultraviolet detectors. In this paper
we have fabricated metal-semiconductor-metal photodetectors on 1-m thick Zn 0.8Mg0.2O films. The interdigital metal electrodes are 500 m long and 5 m wide with an interelectrode spacing 2 m
5 m and 10 m
respectively. Zn0.8Mg0.2O films were grown on quartz by ratio frequency magnetron sputtering at 500C. Dark current
spectral responsivity and pulse response were carried out for the devices with different finger pitches. All the photodetectors showed the peak responsivity at 330 nm and the ultraviolet-visible rejection ratio (R330 nm/R400 nm) is more than four orders of magnitude at 3 V bias. For the device with 2 m finger pitch
the detectivity was calculated as 4.21011 cm Hz 1/2/W at 330 nm. Furthermore
the transient response measurement for all devices revealed similar rise time of 10 ns. The 90%-10% fall times are 130 ns
170 ns and 230 ns for the devices with different finger pitches of 2 m
5 m and 10 m
respectively..

In order to overcome the irradiance responsivity calibration troubles caused by the weak response of most spectral radiometers in ultraviolet band and poor ratio of signal to noise
and to meet special calibration condition for some remote sensing spectroradiometers in space
a spectral irradiance responsivity calibration unit based on parallel light illumination mode is established
it is composed of a 150W deuterium lamp and a spherical mirror. The calibration unit gets the output standard value of spectral irradiance by irradiance transfer
this way avoids the spectral reflectance measurement difficulty of the spherical mirror. A flight spectral radiometer model used for space remote sense was calibrated in range from 160nm to 300nm
the calibration error of spectral irradiance responsivity is 4.7%. Some factors which contribute to calibration uncertainties are discussed.
