A 50mm focal length  F/1.25  Gaussian type optical system is designed in this paper  which has 20field of view. Actual star image adding optical cross-talk effect of CMOS(Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor)  detector is simulated by non-sequential ray tracing in ZEMAX optical design and analysis software to evaluate its performance. The distortion relative to image spot centriod is introduced and calculated by simulated star images  which is less than 0.03% of lens in this paper. Thermal adaptability is discussed by opt-mechanic thermal analysis  which shows the RMS spot radius of marginal filed changes less than 0.7m under 10C temperature gradient  and changes less than 1m during homogeneous temperature changing from 40C to 40C. The results of analyses and simulations show the design of this lens can achieve the requirement of high precision CMOS star sensor well. 2011 IEEE.

To obtain a number of advantages in fabrication  testing and alignment  many designs in which spherical mirrors replace classical Cassegrain-form aspheric mirrors are present in the literature. However  spherical mirrors suffer from substantial spherical aberration and thereby require some form of corrector group. But in this case  the question encountered is that of making the basic optical configuration more complex. In this paper  a new design based on Cooke corrector group is presented for eliminating spherical aberration  which is believed to provide higher performance with less complexity than previous approaches. Besides  the cost and fabrication period will be extremely decreased. The telescope system using corrector group here can achieve good optical performance with f# of 10  full field of 0.5  obscuration of 1/3 and MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) of 0.48 corresponding to 50@lp/mm. 2009 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.

With the development of the resolution of spaceborne remote sensor  the diameter of the primary mirror of spaceborne telescope becomes larger and larger. The distortion of primary mirror which is influenced by the mirror material  structure  self-weight  support system and temperature environment affects optical image quality finally. In this paper  an on-axis TMA high-resolution Cassegrain optical payload with a primary mirror whose diameter is 650mm was designed and the effects of the influence factors of the distortion acts on the on-axis TMA optical system primary mirror had been analyzed by means of Finite Element Analysis. During work  the technology of the primary mirror design had been summarized and general consideration of the primary mirror design technology also had been described at the same time. Considering the telescope manufacture and work station  a reasonable and optimal structure of the primary mirror sub-assembly is taken finally. In the end  the distortion of the primary mirror during its fabrication station and work station had been analyzed by integrated Finite Element Analysis Method. The results implicated the synthesis profile error (P-V value) for the primary mirror is less than /10 and all the indexes of the primary mirror satisfy the requirements of the optical system.

An infrared-optical zoom system using binary element is proposed in this paper. The two main advantages of the zoom system introducing here are: bigger F-number and lower cost. The primary optical properties are: F/#=1  Second  Others  zoom ratio =1:4  binary element is used to correct the chromatical aberration by taking the advantage of negative dispersion characteristics and the cost of the system is lower than that of conventional ones with Zinc Selenide (Znse) material at the same level. In the binary element is rotational symmetric with one step which is easy to fabricate  in order to balance 5th spherical aberration  and dual field are 26.6 and 5.6respectively. Wider field of view is used for search and the smaller one is used for imaging details. This system uses un-cooled infrared detector with 320240 pixels and 45m pixel size. The F-number matches the sensitivity range of the detector array. Three aspects are considered during design process to make the system more satisfactory and more achievable. First  5th coma aberration and 5th astigmatic aberration  the manner of zoom is accomplished by exchanging tow lenses into the smaller field of view system layout. The lens exchange manner faces the requirement of simple system structure and good image quality in both focal points. It can also make the system more feasible in the alignment process than mechanical-zooming manner and optical-zooming manner  high-order asphere surfaces with 2th order to 10 th order are also hired in the system. Asphere surface is useful in compressing the system and improving optical system transmittance. This kind asphere surface is on industrial level featuring low cost and easy to fabricate. It is shown that good image quality can achieved by implementing five Germanium lenses and the transmittance of system is 72%. All aberrations are diffraction-limited  both spherical aberration and astigmatic aberration are corrected. When the field of view(FOV) is 26.6 and the focal length is 152mm  MTF at Nyquist frequency(11lp/mm) is great than 0.7. The spherical aberration is -0.0073. The coma aberration is 0.0978 and the astigmatic aberration is -0.013. When the field of view(FOV) is 5.6 and the focal length is 38mm  MTF at Nyquist frequency is great than 0.8 with spherical aberration -0.0046  the coma aberration 0.055 and astigmatic aberration 0.034.

We investigated electro-optic modulator structures to target low drive voltage  high-speed modulation  and small device size with c-axis grown BaTiO3/MgO ferro-electric thin films. In this study  the calculations are focused on the ideal thin film with a quadratic relation between the half-wave drive voltage V and the interaction length L in the electro-optic modulation case we obtained in previous work. With the quadratic electro-optic modulating relation and the optimal rib waveguide structure of BaTiO3/MgO thin films  the frequency-voltage-size performances for 2.5GHz  10GHz  40GHz  and 100GHz modulation bandwidths have been obtained under half-wave drive voltages of 0.8V  1.6V  3.0V and 4.8V  respectively  for the ideal film with r51=730 pm/V at 1550nm wavelength  where both the phase velocity matching condition and the conductor induced microwave attenuation are considered. The required device lengths to achieve these four typical values of modulation bandwidth are 3.3 mm  0.8 mm  0.4 mm and 0.2 mm  respectively. With the c-axis grown BaTiO3/MgO crystal thin films and the quadratic electro-optic modulating relation  an electro-optic coefficient of reff=180 pm/V for the c-axis grown BaTiO3/MgO ferro-electric thin films was measured  which is relatively far from the ideal value of r51=560 pm/V. copyright The Electrochemical Society.

Patterned carbon nanotubes on silicon substrates were obtained using electrophoretic method. The carbon nanotubes migrated towards the patterned silicon electrode in the electrophoresis suspension under the applied voltage. The carbon nanotubes arrays adhered well on the silicon substrates. The surface images of carbon nanotubes were observed by scanning electron microscopy. The field emission properties of the patterned carbon nanotubes were tested in a diode structure under a vacuum pressure below 5 10-4 Pa. The measured emission area was about 1.0 mm2. The emission current density up to 30 mA/cm2 at an electric field of 8 V/m has been obtained. The deposition of patterned carbon nanotubes by electrophoresis is an alternative method to prepare field emission arrays. 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
