In order to improve the resolution and enhance the impact resistance and vibration resistance of encoders
a novel absolute metal rotary encoder based on Single-track Periodic Gray Code is presented. The configuration and working principle of the encoder is introduced
and then the metal code disc which can realize full scale absolute encoding on one single track and its corresponding metal slit disc are proposed. Finally
the data acquisition and processing system based on FPGA of encoder is presented. The resolution of the encoder can reach 5.27through electronic subdivision and calibration between the precision code and the coarse code with its volume only 4840mm. The encoder has some advantages such as small volume
low cost
high resolution and strong impact resistance. 2012 IEEE.

To satisfy the requirement of encoder miniaturization
high dependability
and high measuring accuracy
a new-style vernier absolute type encoder which offered significant advantages over less reticling circles and high precision was presented in the paper
which carried out the design of vernier encoding disc
the analysis of new-style vernier encoding principle
and exact encoding track calibration by studying the photoelectric encoder. The Matlab simulation results prove that the encoding and coding methods are feasible. The test showed that the cubage of encoder was quite small and the diameter of the encoder can be controlled within 100mm
its resolution can reach 24 bits i.e. 0.0772. The feasibility of encoding and coding method was further proved. 2011 IEEE.

Hyper-spectral imaging (HSI) is a kind of optical remote sensor that can simultaneously obtain spatial and spectral information of ground targets. We are now designing a data processing system for a type of space-borne push-broom HSI
then it performs radiometric and spectral calibration based on the ground calibration results and onboard calibration collection. The detailed algorithms for bad pixel replacement
which has 128 spectral channels covering the spectral range from 400nm to 2500nm. With its large amount of spectral channels
radiometric and spectral calibration were presented. After processing
the HSI collects large volume of spectral imaging data need to be efficiently and accurately processed and calibrated. In this paper
the digital numbers downlinked from the spacecraft can be converted into at-sensor absolute spectral radiance of ground targets
the detailed Level 0 and Level 1 data processing steps for the HSI were presented. The Level 0 processing refers to a set of tasks performed on the data downlinked from the spacecraft
thus providing accurate quantified spectral imaging data for various applications. 2009 SPIE.
including decoding to extract science data
separating the science data into files corresponding to different tasks (e.g. ground imaging
dark imaging
and onboard calibration)
checking data integrity and instrument settings
data format conversion
and Level 0 files creation. The Level 1 processing performs several steps on Level 0 data. Firstly
it corrects the image artifacts (mostly the SWIR smear effect)
subtracts the dark background
and performs the bad pixel replacement according to the prelaunch measurement

STIM (Solar Total Irradiance Monitor) can be used on sun-synchronous polar orbit weather satellites to measure the total solar irradiance. It contains three independent and identical wide view absolute radiometers. They are mounted on the satellite in an angle which ensure the sun scan over the field of view of the absolute radiometers. This measurement method doesn't need the instrument tracking the sun but the sun scan over the field of view of the absolute radiometers in each orbit cycle. The paper presents the measurement method of simulation for solar irradiance measurement and calibration by mounting the instrument on a two-axis rotation table. By controlling the rotation angle velocity of the instrument in the meridian direction being the same as that of the weather satellite's on orbit
we can measure the solar irradiance when the sun scan over the field of view of the absolute radiometers to simulate the onboard state. And we have operated the measurement with the prototype of STIM. The SIAR-1 is traceable to WRR and serves as a transfer standard. So simultaneous comparison measurements between SIAR-1 and each of the three wide view absolute radiometers are measured to provide calibration corrections to the instrument. And we have a further study at the influence of stray light to the measurement results. This paper presents the method of simulation experiment and calibration for solar irradiance measurement with Solar Total Irradiance Monitor on board.
