Degradation of Methyl Orange over Fe2+ Activated Sulphonated Carbon Catalyst

英文摘要sulphonated carbon materials made from glucose were used as the solid acid and the support of fe2+ in the fenton reaction, and the effects of the structure of carbon materials prepared by different methods on the fe2+ loading and the degradation efficiency of methyl orange were measured. it was found that direct heating resulted in a rigid carbon material, which had no obvious ability for the degradation of methyl orange. however, the hydrothermal method resulted in micro-spheres with narrow size distribution, and they contacted with each other. the fe2+ activated sulphonated carbon material prepared by the hydrothermal method exhibited remarkable catalytic performance for the degradation of methyl orange (the degradation efficiency could reach above 79%) and ph = 2.4-3.2 in the reaction system was observed, which should be attributed to the introduction of -so3h group.
