英文摘要Genes encoding the alpha- and beta-subunits of allophycocyanin from the cyanobacterium Spirulina platensis were sequenced and compared with those of other cyanobacteria and rhodophytes. Based on sequence identity at the amino acid level, S. platensis was found to be closer to the marine cyanobacterium Synechococcus sp. PCC 7002 and the rhodophytes Agloathamnion negletum and Cyanidium caldarium. Statistical analysis of the homology in amino acid and nucleotide sequences with cyanobacterial hemoglobin from Nostoc commune and putative hemoglobin from Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 suggest that phycolibiliproteins are distantly related to hemoglobins.
