英文摘要 | In China, 66.5 percent of the total land area is mountainous and geologically complex. Rocks from the Precambrian to the Holocene have been deformed repeatedly since Paleozoic time, resulting in extremely complicated geologic structures. On the basis of complex and weak geologic structure and the rugged mollntain topography , high-intensity rainfall and commonly occurring earthquakes contribute to significant landslides in Chinese mountain areas , especial1y in the Hengduan Mountains region of southwestern China, the Loess Plateau area , and Taiwan lsland. |
