中文摘要	Due to their applicability in real world situations, the multi-echelon inventory/distribution systems have caught the researchers many attention, especially the inventory systems with one-warehouse and N retailers, which face stochastic demand and replenish from the warehouse. In the literatures it is normally assumed that backorders at the warehouse are satisfied according to a so-called first come - first served policy. This assumption simplifies the analysis but is, in general, not optimal. The paper presents a simple heuristic allocation policy that will always lead to a lower cost than the first come - first served allocation policy. Simulation study indicates that the average savings obtained by the heuristic allocation policy are about two percent. So the heuristic allocation policy seems to be a good idea to realize a guaranteed cost reduction.
