Relationship between glass forming ability and thermal parameters of Zr based bulk metallic glasses

中文摘要The compositions of Zr4Ti14Cu12Ni10Be23 and Zr55Ni10Cu20Al15 bulk metallic glasses (BMGs) were modified by the addition of other elements, such as Nb, Fe, Mg, Y, Ta, and C. The modified alloys exhibit excellent glass forming ability (GFA). The glass transition temperature Tg crystallisation temperature T-x, and offset melting temperature T-1 of the composition modified Zr based alloys were determined by differential temperature analysis (DTA). Results show that the Tg, T-x, and T-1 are all sensitive to the composition. The undercooled temperature from T-1 to T-x, DeltaT(1) defined by DeltaT(1)= T-1 - T-x has a stronger correlation with the reduced glass transition temperature T-rg (T-rg = T-g/T-1) than DeltaT(x) (DeltaT(x) = T-x - T-g).
