英文摘要	SiC particulates composites with Al alloy as a matrix were produced by semi-solid stir-casting method. Structural and mechanical properties of Al alloy, Al-4 wt% SiC and Al-4 wt% oxidized SiC metal matrix composites with percentages of Mg varying from 0 wt% to 4 wt% in steps of 1 wt% was investigated. There is no hole was founded on the surface of SiC particles by the medical effects were observed under a scanning electron microscope. It was shown that the oxidation of SiC particles can prevent the attack from aluminum molten. X-ray diffraction studies indicated the presence of precipitation phases such as Si and MgAl2O4 in the Al-4 wt% oxidized SiC-3 wt% Mg metal matrix composites. The room temperature stiffness of all the composites were higher than the matrix alloy. It was also established that yield strength and tensile strength were better at the Al-4 wt% oxidized SiC-3 wt% Mg metal matrix composites than other composites improved mechanical properties further. In the case of the composites with the content of Mg was more than 3wt.%, the yield strength(R-p0.2) and tensile strength decreased due to the excessive Mg are added in the composites, SiCp will Continue to react with Al in the Al alloy melt after the SiO2 crystal layer on the surface of oxidized SiCp are consumed. This can lead to reduction of the interface bonding strength of the particles and matrix alloy.
