Reflection and transmission of the incident wave due to impurities in the bead chain

英文摘要Incident wave reflection and transmission caused by the impurity in one-dimensional bead chain are studied. As the number of impurities increases, the energy of the transmitted and reflected waves oscillates periodically. When the number of impurities is so large that its length is greater than the width of the incident wave, the transmission and reflection remain constant. In this paper, the dependence of the energy of transmitted and reflected waves on the number of impurity particles in each segment is studied. It is noted that both the reflection and the transmission depend not only on the numbers and the permutation of the impurity but also on the parameters of the incident wave. This behavior can be used to detect the impurities in the bead chain by measuring the reflection of an incident wave.
