英文摘要 | PURPOSE:To restrain a device from varying in characteristic due to temperature change so as to radiate efficiently heat induced by the emission of light rays by a method wherein a liquid is encapsulated in a vessel used for protecting a semiconductor laser chip. CONSTITUTION:A laser chip 2 is mounted on a heat sink 3, which is housed in a vessel composed of a stem 5 and a cap 4, and an inactive liquid 8 is hermetically encapsulated inside the vessel. The refractive index of the liquid 8 is made nearly equal to that of a laser radiation projecting glass By these processes, heat released from the chip 2 is radiated not only from an electrode pin 6 but also from the whole device through the inactive liquid 8. Therefore, the temperature rise at the oscillating end face can be decreased, so that the deterioration of the end face can be slowed. And, an external environmental temperature is restrained from varying, whereby a luminous property of a device can be prevented from fluctuating. |
