英文摘要PURPOSE:To prevent the interference of light and to enable the simultaneous reception of two lights as well as the substantial adjustment of sensitivity of reception of light without depending on an external circuit, by providing two light-receiving surfaces isolated electrically from each other, and by providing films different in reflectivity on these light-receiving surfaces as well as an interference preventing region between the two light-receiving surfaces. CONSTITUTION:The device has two light-receiving surfaces isolated electrically from each other, films 7 and 8 formed on these two light-receiving surfaces respectively and being different in reflectivity from each other, and an interference preventing region 9 formed between the two light-receiving surfaces. The main body of the light-receiving device is so fitted that the isolating groove 9 thereof is aligned with a separating groove 1D of a laser apparatus Therefore, lights emitted from light-emitting elements 4 and 5 of rear end faces enter the light-receiving surfaces without interfering with each other. When a coating film 1A on the front end face of the semiconductor laser apparatus 1 has a high reflectivity and 1B a low reflectivity and further when the reflectivity of the rear end face thereof is uniform, light outputs from the rear end face are in the relationship of an output from the light-emitting element 4 > an output from the light-emitting element 5. The sensitivity of the light-receiving surfaces is adjusted by coating the light-receiving surface 8 with a film of lower reflectivity than that of the light-receiving surface 7.
