Synthesis and tunable emission of Ga2S3 quantum dots

Ga2S3 quantum dots are successfully synthesized by the one-pot method. Compared with Ga2S3 bulk materials, Ga2S3 quantum dots can dramatically enhance the fluorescence performance. The Ga2S3 quantum dots have a quantum efficiency of up to 25.7%. They can emit light from blue to yellow by adjusting the feed Ga/S ratio. Their luminescence might be related to the donor levels and acceptor level caused by defects. These Ga2S3 quantum dots are potential optoelectronic materials and fluorescent probe materials.
