英文摘要	PURPOSE:To make it possible to manufacture light emitting devices easily and maintain a high degree of convergence by providing a lens buried in mold resin so that it may be positioned on the light emitting side of a light emitting device chip and on the same optical axis of the light emitting device chip and bonding the lens with the light emitting side of the light emitting device chip. CONSTITUTION:A sphere lens 8 is bonded with a light emitting side 3a of a diode chip 3 so that it may be positioned on the same optical axis of the diode chip 3. The sphere lens 8 is buried in mold resin 4 under the bonded state. Therefore, the light being diffused and radiated from the light emitting side 3a is taken immediately into the sphere lens 8 and converged into virtually parallel light. In this manner, the diffusion light is converged with the sphere lens 8, which makes it possible to obtain an light emitting diode 1 having a high degree of convergence. Therefore, it is possible to obtain a high bonding efficiency even if it is bonded with fiber with a small-sized core. Since the sphere lens 8 is positioned by bonding with the diode chip 3, an alignment with an optical axis can be made with accuracy.
