英文摘要	PURPOSE:To prevent an optical output from being changed by temperature with simple constitution by comparing the optical output of a semiconductor laser driven by a prescribed waveform with a set point to control the drive of the laser. CONSTITUTION:The voltage of a waveform boosted in accordance with the lapse of time is supplied from a saw tooth wave generating means 20 to the semiconductor laser 22 through a voltage/current converter 21, the optical output of the laser 22 is monitored by a photodiode 23 and voltage Vm corresponding to light reception is outputted from a current/voltage converter 24. On the other hand, a look-up table 27 is referred in accordance with pixel data and a set voltage (e) corresponding to the pixel data is outputted from a D/A converter 28. When the voltage Vm reaches the voltage (e), an FF 25 is reset by the comparing output of a comparator 26, a switch 31 is turned off and the current of a waveform to be increased in accordance with the supplying time to the diode 22 is interrupted. Since the device adops the simple constitution using saw-tooth waves without using rectangular waveforms complexing the structure, the optical output of the laser diode 22 can be prevented from being varied even when the characteristics of the diode 22 are changed in accordance with temperature.
