In one embodiment, the fiber optic rotary joint includes a first stationary optical fiber inserted into and bonded to the capillary tube. The fiber optic rotary joint also includes a second optical fiber, having an end inserted into the capillary tube and in contact with the index-matching fluid, configured to be rotated by a rotatable fiber chuck.
