英文摘要A twin-hole fiber with two 1-m-long tungsten wires inserted as its internal electrode was made successfully. This is the longest internal-electrode fiber ever achieved from metal wire insertion technology. The propagation loss of this kind of fiber is only 0.47 dB/m at 1550 nm. No additional loss is measured after the tungsten wire has been inserted. The fiber is thermally poled at 3 kV voltage, inducing a permanent electro-optic coefficient of 0.06 pm/V.
