Middle-old landfill-leachate treatment by UBF-BAF immobilized microorganism system

英文摘要An anaerobic/aerobic immobilized microorganism system combining an anaerobic upflow-sludge blanket filter (UBF) and an immobilized biological aerated filter (BAF) was operated to enhance organic and nitrogen removal efficiencies in treating landfill leachate. Through over half a year's operation, CODCr, NH4+-N, and total inorganic nitrogen (TIN) was successfully removed with average removal efficiency of 93.8%, 97.3% and 84.1% respectively when concentration of CODCr and NH4+-N ranged from 6000-14500 mg/L and 880-1500 mg/L, respectively. In the UBF-BAF system, high strength free ammonia had little effect on the contamination removal. The idealized HRT was found to be 84h. Analysis of GC/MS was used to identify the organic pollutants, which resulted high removal efficiency. SEM images of the carriers revealed a great diversity of microorganisms after 200 days operation. Good operation stability was demonstrated even when high disturbance of the influent loading occurred and it was feasible to treat landfill leachate by the system.; EI; 0; 1; 12-22; 16
