英文摘要A pair of models of fractal recursion on city hierarchy, f(m) = f(1)r(f)(1-m) and P-m = P(1)r(p)(m-1) are derived using entropy-maximizing methods, and the relationship of inverse proportion between the number (f(m)) of cities at a given level of the urban hierarchy and the average population size (P-m) of the f(m) cities is established, i.e f(m) proportional to 1/P.
