英文摘要Titanium hydride nanoparticles and five kinds of Ti-Fe nanoparticles were prepared by hydrogen plasma-metal reaction. The morphology, crystal structure and chemical composition of nanoparticles obtained were investigated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and induction-coupled plasma (ICP) spectroscopy. The particle size was determined by TEM and specific surface area. The formation mechanism of nanoparticles was discussed. It was found that all the nanoparticles have spherical shapes, with average particle size in the range of 22-44 nm. The titanium contents in Ti-Fe ultrafine particles (UFPs) are about 1-2 times lower than those in the master alloys. With Ti contents less than 50 at.% in bulk, the evaporation speed of Fe in Ti-Fe alloys is accelerated greatly by titanium addition. Only the UFPs originating from pure Ti react with hydrogen and form TiH1.924 possessing both FCC and BCT structures. Fe and Fe-7 at.%Ti UFP samples have the structure of alpha-Fe. As to sample Fe-9.9 at.% Ti and Fe-16.6 at.% Ti, some titanium atoms dissolve in alpha-Fe and others combine with iron atoms to form intermetallic TiFe2, therefore no hydrogen is adsorbed. No TiFe2 is detectable in sample Fe-42.2 at.% Ti which consists of the main phase of alpha-Fe, plus a small amount of an unidentified phase.
