Photoluminescence properties of lutao4:re3+ (re3+ = eu3+, tb3+) with m '-type structure

英文摘要Lu0.96eu0.04tao4 and lu0.96tb0.04tao4 with m'-type have been successfully synthesized by solid reaction method. the photoluminescence properties of lutao4:eu3+. and lutao4:tb3+ were investigated individually under 394 nm and 378 nm excitation. the results indicate that the charge-transfer transition of o2- -> eu3+ and the 4f(8) -> 4f(7)5d(1) transition of tb3+ dominate the excitation spectra of lutao4:eu3+ and lutao4:eu3+, respectively, and the low energy part of charge-transfer transition of tao43- also contributes to both excitation spectra. eu3+ and tb3+ doped in m'-type lutao(4) exhibit their characteristic emission. the dominated emission of eu3+ corresponding to the electric dipole transition d-5(0) -> f-7(2) is located at 613 nm and bright green luminescence of lutao4:eu3+ attributed to the transition d-5(4) -> f-7(5) is centered at 547 nm. the fluorescence lifetimes of eu3+ and tb3+ are determined as 1.51 ms and 1.04 ms, respectively.
