中文摘要several kinds of microorganisms used for fermentation are studied to evaluate their efficiency of utilizing different carbon sources—glucose, fructose and xylose, by means of analyzing fermentation kinetics of substrate uptake and product formation. it revealed that most microorganisms showed preference for glucose to fructose as a carbon source, for the possible reason of environmental evolution. recent study shows that by means of genetic engineering or induced mutation screening, certain microorganisms can be improve to uptake fructose or xylose in advance of glucose. it can be explained that they have specific fructose transporter or key enzymes of related metabolic pathway, like the phosphorylation of sugar are overexpressed. therefore, certain biomass with potential abundant fructose, for example jerusalem artichoke, can be used to replace crop and has great value to release the crisis of petrochemical industry and food supplies. also, the potential advantages of jerusalem artichoke as an ideal energy plant for biorefinery are estimated from its composition to market analysis by experiments of screening and breeding with shake bottle. keywords: glucose; fructose; kinetics; biorefinery; jerusalem artichoke
