中文摘要2-benzoylpyridine is an important raw material and intermediate, which has been used in the synthesis of many organic compounds. in order to better understand the process of chemical reaction of this compound, develop its new application and carry out relevant theoretical research, the thermodynamic properties are needed. the heat capacities of 2-benzoylpyridine were measured with an automated adiabatic calorimeter over the temperature range from 80 to 370 k. the melting point, molar enthalpy, fushm, and entropy, fussm, of fusion of this compound were determined to be 316.38 k, 23.181 kj mol-1 and 64.145 j mol-1 k-1, respectively. the purity of the compound was calculated to be 99.60 mol% by using the fractional melting technique. the thermodynamic functions relative to the reference temperature (298.15 k) were calculated based on the heat capacity measurements in the temperature range between 80 k and 370 k. the thermal properties of the compound were further investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (dsc). from the dsc curve the molar enthalpy and entropy of evaporation of this compound were determined to be 51.3±0.2 kj mol-1 and 99.1±0.4 j mol-1 k-1, respectively.
