中文摘要Cell engineering is a popular term for the use of cytological techniques, with certain aims and strategies, to Produce novel genetic traits. Fish cell engineering is a branch of cell engineering used in fish cells, including germ cells and somatic cells. About 3 years ago, the major developments of fish cell engineering in China were introduced in an article at the 3rd international Symposium On Genetics in Aquaculture. Since 1988, studies in this field have made great advances in China in chromosome set and chromosomes manipulation, improving natural gynogenetic fish by adding partial sperm genetic material into eggs, application of nuclear-cytoplasmic hybrids to fish cultivation, the basic work of somatic cell engineering for fish breeding, and producing transgenic fishes and total DNA transfer fishes, including some theoretical exploration and methodological modification. In this paper, the advances mentioned above will be introduced or reviewed, but research on transgenic fish will be excluded because there has been a specific keynote on it at the present symposium.
