英文摘要To avoid carrying heavy instruments, it is efficient to apply the powerful functions of cell phone in engineering practice. The self-designed target patterns on both sides of fracture were shot by cell phone without calibration and the circle and ellipse recognition algorithm was proposed. In this algorithm, circular approaching degree was regarded as the discrimination standard for the circle pattern. Then, the convenient, low-cost fracture width deformation monitoring method was implemented using OpenCV and Python programming. Subsequently, the experimental study was conducted and the results indicated that the method is sensitive to the variation of shooting distance and is insensitive to elliptic recognition and pixel interpolation. Finally, compared with the conventional approach with crack width tester in the engineering example, accuracy of the method proposed in this paper is able to meet the demand of engineering and the approach is convenient for application in engineering practice.
