英文摘要Cooling water from the cooling water system is frequently used to reject process heat in chemical industries. The performance of chemical processes could be greatly affected by varying conditions of cooling water. Therefore, there is a need of integration between chemical processes and cooling water system for effective use of cooling water and improve the performance of chemical processes. In this work, a nonlinear programming formulation is developed for operational optimization of integrated recirculating cooling water system and chemical processes. The model is solved to local optimality using CONOPT in GAMS. The results demonstrate the total profit can be significantly improved by 337 k pound/y through integration compared to that without integration.
