英文摘要 | Cellular metal is widely used in passive safety field for its capacity of impact energy absorption. In this paper, the manufacturing of a periodic cellular metal with aluminum cubic cells was studied. Its impact behaviors were analyzed by drop weight experiments. The periodic cellular metal was fabricated by sheet metal forming and adhesive bonding. The individual cells were first stamped, then bonded together to form the cellular structure. Two different sizes of cells, namely 3 and 5 mm, were manufactured and their impact behaviors were tested. The results showed that the cellular metal manufactured by this route showed a high energy absorption capacity. |
