英文摘要Miyun Reservoir and Panjiakou Reservoir are the main raw water sources for Beijing and Tianjin. Since optimizing the land use structure upstream can increase the inflow to two reservoirs, the water shortage in Beijing and Tianjin could be ameliorated. In this study, Dongbeigou Watershed, a typical small watershed upstream of Panjiakou Reservoir, was selected as the case study area to study land use optimization for more water from this watershed downstream. Using investigation data, Quickbird imaginary data, 5 m DEM and meteorological data and by means of GIS approaches, we first discussed the interaction among land use, soil erosion and water demand, and then got the optimum land use structure. Results suggested that the best land use allocation was decided by criteria that minimized soil erosion for reducing non-point source pollution, as well as the total water consumption. Therefore, the water quality and quantity from Dongbeigou Watershed were ensured. It is proved that the optimized land use structure with well-designed spatial pattern was able to reduce soil erosion and water consumption by 13.7% and 8.4% respectively. © 2015 Taylor & Francis Group, London.
