英文摘要	陈来，清华大学国学院教授、博士生导师; 【中文摘要】一般认为，韩国理学家李栗谷以“气发理乘”反对李退溪“理发气随”，其实在理发、气发的问题上，栗谷的真正思想却与退溪的立场异中有同，同中有异，并不都构成矛盾。在本体的层面栗谷认可“理发而气随之”，在作用的层面他赞成“气发而理乘之”。所以在两人表面矛盾的概念和命题形式下（栗谷批评理发气随），实质上的思想却有一致的地方；而两人命题一致的形式下 (栗谷赞成气发理乘），却含有对气发的不同理解。因此，退溪、栗谷思想的异同不能简单根据主张气发或理发的说法来判定，需要根据其文本作细致的思想分析。 【Abstract】It is generally thought that Li Ligu holds the idea of “Qi starts and Li manages by” to fight against Li Tuixi's “Li starts and Qi follows”.Actually on the issue whether “Li starts” or “Qi starts”，their real thoughts are both similar and different and do not contradict each other. On the level of being，Ligu approves the argument of “Li starts and Qi follows”，meanwhile，he is in favor of “Qi starts and Li manages by” in effect level. So in concept and proposition the two are contradictory on the surface. In essence， however， their ideas have something in common. The two propositions are consistent under the form of “Qi starts and Li manages by” favoured by Ligu，while they have the different understandings of Qi. The thoughts of Ligu and Tuixi，therefore， should not simply be decided according to either Qi start or Li starts. There should be a careful analysis according to the text.
