英文摘要	吴光辉，厦门大学外文学院教授、博士生导师，教育学博士；张凌云，厦门大学外文学院博士研究生，贵州师范大学外国语学院讲师。; 【中文摘要】作为日本科举学研究的代表性人物，宫崎市定通过确立东方“朴素主义民族”与西方“文明主义社会”对抗转换的观念，强调要将中国作为一个整体性的“国家”来加以认识，认为科举制度的崩溃是中国文明走向衰败的一大标志。与此同时，宫崎市定亦站在建构“世界文明史”的立场，批判西方历史哲学背景下的“中国社会停滞论”，指出要以科举研究为突破口来研究世界文明大势下的中国社会。宫崎市定的科举评价尽管强调要还原到中国自身的立场，且必须公正地评价科举制度，但是亦潜藏了以中国为工具来论述现代日本的合理性的根本意图。 【Abstract】Miyazaki Ichisada，a major representative of Japanese scholars on imperial examinations (IE)，by establishing the confronting and switching concepts of the eastern “naive nation” and the western “civilized society”，emphasizes that China should be understood as a holistic country. In his opinion，the collapse of IE system marked a turning point toward the decline of Chinese civilization. At the same time，from the perspective of constructing the “ history of world civilization，” he criticizes the “theory of Chinese social stagnation” as seen in the framework of western philosophy and history， and asserts that research on China as a society in the broader context of global civilization should focus on IE as a breakthrough .This paper argues that although Miyazaki Ichisada in his work on IE stresses that critique on IE should be based on China's own background and must be impartial，his study conceals the basic intention of using China as a tool to expound the legitimate rise of modern Japan.; 福建省社科项目“现代日本‘中国形象’嬗变与回归的研究”（2013B088)；中国博士后基金项目“近代日本的中国形象研究”（2013T60639)；福建省“新世纪优秀人才”项目（X170300101)
