| 英文摘要 | 留学教育是台湾教育的重要组成部分，对台湾社会发展变迁产生重要影响。1949年国民党迁台，两岸陷入到长达38年之久的“冰河期”，台湾留学教育自此走上与大陆迥异的发展道路。本论文通过对1949年以来台湾留学教育政策、发展概况等的历史变迁研究，试图深度剖析台湾留学教育与社会发展的内在互动关系，并总结台湾留学教育发展的主要特征，以期对中国大陆当前正在蓬勃发展的留学教育有所助益。 通过研究发现：其一，随着台湾社会的发展转型，台湾当局的留学教育政策逐渐从限制性转变为鼓励性政策，尤其是“解严”后，台湾当局大幅度放宽留学政策，从“严格管控”转变为“弹性处理”。其二，在留学生选派方面，自费留学政策呈现放宽的趋...; Overseas education is one of the most important parts of Taiwan education, which has a significant influence on Taiwan social transition.
