英文摘要	近年来，国内外重大的突发性事件时有发生。在一些突发事件中，中国媒体反应滞后，公众说“信爹信娘不信报”，传媒公信力严重缺失，甚至引起国际舆论不满，中国的国际形象因此受损——媒体的对外传播面临前所未有的巨大挑战。研究媒体如何在重大突发事件中提高对外传播的效力，应是必须的，也是迫在眉睫的。但国内目前在这一领域的研究十分有限，尚未形成系统科学的理论。因此，本文局限于探索性研究。笔者在查阅大量相关文献的基础上，结合实例分析重大突发事件对于对外传播的特殊要求，并对去年非典时期中国媒体和境外媒体的对外传播作个案研究，力求为中国提高对外传播的竞争力提供启示和借鉴。; During recent years, several domestic and external unexpected events have taken place now and then.
