| 英文摘要 | 新加坡华族戏曲源自中国，是华族在移民到新加坡时移植过来的，在新加坡被认为是华族的重要传统艺术。长久以来，戏曲脸谱都被新加坡旅游促进局做为象征华族的标志，区别于马来族、印度族和欧亚族，显示新加坡四大种族特色。 华族戏曲在新加坡的意义在其发展历程中，远超初期南渡时的宗教功能、不止于精神寄托。它也涉及娱乐、文化、艺术与教育等多方面，是背井离乡的侨民用于慰籍乡愁、联络情感、为公益事业与交流商业、文坛信息的形式。华族戏曲可以说是侨民的身心寄托。尤其在新中国成立、断了新中两地的往来后，戏曲乃巩固华族本质的传统文化之一。当然，做为表演艺术，其娱乐功能不容小觑，是新加坡独立前许多代人，甚至包括非华族人士的集...; Singapore Chinese Opera originated from China.
