英文摘要	自清代后期，以盐业经营为龙头的徽商日渐走向衰落。咸同年间，战乱席卷徽州本土及作为经商大本营的江南地区，给徽商带来几近致命的打击。就扬州、苏州、南京等地的情况来看，其发展势头大不如前。目前，学术界基本将徽州商帮在这一时期的发展面貌归类为“衰落”、“落后”和“解体”。但笔者认为，徽商“衰落论”值得商榷。 本文以清代中后期杭州地区的徽商群体为研究对象，集中考察徽商木业公所与新安惟善堂两个组织，试图通过分析徽商在杭州的活动，探讨其在晚清社会变动中的发展与互助，及其与特定地方社会的复杂关系，进而体现徽商在近代社会呈现的活跃景象。 杭州的徽州木商公所与新安惟善堂分别建立于清代乾隆、嘉庆年间，均由徽州商...; The leading role of Huizhou Merchants in salt industry had declined since the late Qing dynasty.
