英文摘要	近代中国报刊理念的流变受到国人对“西国“整体想象的结构性影响。自始至终,“西国“映像既是以国人对“中国“与“西国“关系的集体共识为预设而建构,又影响着他们对报刊理念的顶层设计。甲午以前,国人对根本制度仍存自信,包括报业在内的西国种种,在他们那里不过是异域的嘉物,虽说时有赞许,却并未全然效仿。甲午以后,趋新崇西迅速成为社会风气,“西国“及其报业也就被设定为尽善尽美,俨然成为中国报人认可的典范。然而在“一战“以后,随着对“西国“的反思与重构,中国报人又逐渐认定西国报业存在根本缺陷,这促使他们去探索自认为更理想的报业模式。此番演化的图景,也体征了近代中国如何从接触“世界“而进入“世界“,更积极地建构“世界“。; This article attempts to show that during the transition of press theory in modern China,how it was structurally affected by the integrate image of " the Occident" in the mind of ordinary Chinese people.Ever since then,all this type of images have been constructed by a social consensus from Chinese people on the relationship between "China" and the " Occident",and affected the top design of their press theory.Before the Sino-Japanese War in 1894,all things from Western nations including journalism practices still counted as the good exotic borrowing for their still reserved confidence in the old fundamental system.Subsequently,the predominant mindset of new-trumps-old and West-adoring quickly became a social consensus in the whole society after the lost War,and " the Occident" and their newspaper thus became " the Paradigm of the Other World" and the rightfully legitimate targets to be followed.However,with more reflections and the demystification of the "Occident" and "Capitalism" following World War I,the western newspaper was therefore thought to have innate flaws by Chinese newspapermen,which prompted them to explore and frame a better model of journalism development.Actually,the interactive evolution of the images also signified the historical process of how modern China experienced a long journey from being exposed,and then entering,and ultimately actively being engaged with "the World".; 厦门大学中央高校基本科研业务费项目“中国新闻学的关键概念:以观念史为研究取向”(项目编号:2011221009)的阶段性成果
