英文摘要We explore the dielectric properties of molecules in monolayer films in electric fields, which may be either static or oscillatory. The electric polarizability is given in orientational order parameters, and is more general than the Debye-Langevin equation. The dielectric behavior of monolayer films imposed by circularly polarized light is clarified using a semiclassical perturbation theory. The Maxwell displacement current induced by photoirradiation is of second order and generated by the interaction between the circularly polarized light and the permanent dipole moment as well as by the random perturbation of the system by the thermal reservoir.
