英文摘要	晋代寻阳人陶潜和南昌人胡谐之都是溪族,在今粤北的始兴郡也有溪族。陈寅恪认为溪族就是湘西的五溪蛮,笔者认为陈说不确,东南的溪族和西南的五溪蛮毫无关系。晋代史料表明丹阳郡也有溪人,南朝的会稽郡和唐代的郴州很可能也有溪族。溪族在东南山区分布范围较广,秦汉不见史载,六朝始见,不可能是一个新族,溪人应即越人。因为东汉到六朝时代的东南山区汉化进程加速,平原完全汉化,越人分布区退缩到山溪河谷,所以出现了溪人之名,溪人是半汉化的越人;进入隋唐时期,山区的越人也逐渐汉化,所以溪人之名消失。; Xunyang people Tao Qian and Nanchang people Hu Xiezhi in Jin Dynasty are both belonged to Xi tribe, and nowadays there are also Xi tribe in Shixing County, northern Guangdong.Chen Yinque thinks that Xi tribe is the Wuxi Man in western Hunan, but I think what Chen said is not indeed, that southeast Xi tribe and southwest Wuxi Man are unrelated.I also found a proof of Historical material in Jin Dynasty which proves that there are Xi people in Danyang County, and probably there are also Xi tribe in Huiji County in the Southern Dynasty and Chenzhou in Tang Dynasty.Xi tribe widely distributes in the southeast mountain.Although it is not in the history of the Qin and Han Dynasties, and can only see the beginning in the Six Dynasties, it may not be a new race.Xi people should be Yue people.Because during the Eastern Han Dynasty and the Six Dynasties, the process of chinesization accelerated in the southeast mountainous, which has completely finished in plains, the distribution area of Yue people retreat to mountain Valley, so the name Xi people appeared, and Xi people are half-finished chinesized Yue people.To the Sui and Tang dynasties, the Yue people in mountains are gradually finished chinesization, so the people named Xi people disappeared.
