; The upsurge of Local Autonomous in Late Qing and Early Republic of China wasn't an entire innovation affected by the politic and social revolution, but actually connect to the idea and practice of "Huaxiang" in Ming and Qing Dynasty.Taking the gentleman named WANG Yu-ying in Wenzhou as example,by analyzing interaction among Wang's awareness of the times and world knowledge, awareness of local elite and practice of Huaxiang, and idea of local autonomous and national identity,it could find the traditional factors behind this trend.Specifically speaking,Wang expressed the thought of "love the nation by loving his hometown",cultural logic behind idea and practice of local autonomous,by building water conservancy, changing the habits, and engaging education and industry. The cultural logic of "love the nation by loving his hometown" was derived from the same origin of the "Huaxiang" in Ming Dynasty.WANG Yuying,to a certain extent, was a common instance as the gentry in processing local-state relations of Late Qing.
