英文摘要	本文在以往中外学者研究的基础上 ,介绍新发现的近 5 0种 1 870年以前记载有关中国科举的西方文献 ,指出到 1 9世纪中叶 ,中国的科举考试制度已为欧洲知识界普遍知晓。史料明确说明英美等国建立的文官考试制度曾受到科举制的启示和影响 ,科举西传说可以确立。科举制的“公平竞争、平等择优”原则是其被西方借鉴的根本原因。科举考试西传欧美是中国对世界文明进程的一大贡献。[英文摘要]Based on the previous academic studies in China and abroad this paper discusses the newly discovered 50 pieces of pre 1870 Western literature about the Chinese imperial examinations and points out that by the middle of the 19 th century the Chinese imperial examination system had become a common knowledge in the intellectual circles in Europe.
