英文摘要	科举从考试目的和内容来看,可以说是一种传统的政法考试。尽管各个朝代的科举中法律的考试分量有所不同,但总体而言,科举具有一定的政法考试性质。1901年清政府下诏改革科举后,乡会试第二场试有关各国政治艺学策五篇,其中多包含法律试题。这些试题集中于与外交相关的法律问题,要求联系当时社会实际,为新政改革出谋划策。废科举则为法政学堂的兴办提供了广阔的空间,原有的科举人才成为法政学堂的重要生源。法政学堂的普遍开设,也多少带有为废科举善后的用意。清末民初一枝独秀的法政学堂是科举教育在新的历史条件下的演变,是科举教育的继续。; In terms of purpose and content,imperial examinations(IEs)should be regarded as a traditional way of examining students on politics and law.Despite differences in the proportions of politics and law in IEs between different dynasties,IEs were,by and large,of political and legal natures to some extent.Since the reform of IEs initiated by the 1901 Edict,there had been tests of five articles on foreign politics,science and technology during the second session of the provincial and metropolitan IEs,which often involved a large amount of legal questions.These questions were focused on legal issues concerning diplomacy,usually asking examinees to give counsels for new reforms in the context of current social circumstances.The abolition of IEs tremendously promoted the establishment of schools of politics and law,and also motivated most of those originally prepared for IEs to become the first batch of students in those schools.The boom of such schools might more or less be meant to alleviate the pains resulting from the abolition of IEs.Education of politics and law,which enjoyed its unparalleled prosperity during the historic transition from the Qing Dynasty to the Republican Period,was basically a transformation and even continuation of the education formerly focused on IEs.; 国家社会科学基金“十一五”规划(教育科学)2007年度国家一般课题“科举学研究”(BAA070046)
