Five isothermal sections of the Co-Ti-Mo ternary system at 900 degrees C, 1000 degrees C, 1100 degrees C, 1200 degrees C and 1300 degrees C were experimentally established and no ternary compound was found in this system. The Co3Mo (DO19) phase stabilized by the addition of Ti was known. In addition, the single-phase region of the Co2Ti (h) phase was identified in the isothermal section at 1300 degrees C. The newly determined phase equilibria in this system will provide important information support for the development of Co-based alloys. (C) 2008 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
