中文摘要	本文依据史料文献对古怀州(今河南省武陟县)妙乐寺塔的始创年代进行了较为详尽、缜密的分析,对于该寺建于阿育王时期,或建于东汉献帝时期的说法加以了辩疑,并依据佛教史传文献等相关史料,对古妙乐寺塔的初创年代进行了分析,提出其可能系北魏灵太后在京师以外各州普建五级浮图时的产物,故推测其始创年代应为北魏神龟元年(518年)。本文对现存后周妙乐寺塔的建塔用尺、高度尺寸等做了一些分析。最后,本文根据极其有限的资料,对北魏怀州妙乐寺塔的可能式样,做了一点探索性的推测复原。; The paper analyzes the start of construction work on the pagoda at Miaole Temple based on Buddhist documents and historical material about the ancient city of Huaizhou(present-day Wuzhi county,Henan province).Contrary to current opinion,the author argues that the original structure was neither built during the reign of the Indian King Ashoka nor during the reign of the Chinese Emperor Xiandi at the end of the Eastern Han dynasty.Rather,it is suggested that this pagoda dated from the time of the Northern-Wei Empress Ling- when five-storied pagodas were built national-wide in each prefecture-level city- and most likely,it was built in the first year of the Shengui reign period of the Northern Wei dynasty(518).The paper then discusses the existing condition of the pagoda that was rebuilt in the Later Zhou dynasty:it explores the use of the foot(chi) as a measure of length in building construction and investigates the dimensions of the pagoda height.Finally,taking into account the limited information about the historic condition of the building,the paper presents an experimental model on how the pagoda might originally have looked.
