The whole village looks so close to the Eight Trigrams that it was given the name Eight Trigrams Village. Due to its low ground and the richness of ponds, floods occur frequently in Li-cha Village. Comparing to the typical comb-layout Cantonese villages, the village structure, building types, residential pattern, architecture for sacrifice and construction technology has been adapted according to the frequent flood.
