中文摘要	While various scientific areas are motivating the development of cryptography, chaos has become one of innovative approaches to designing cryptographic algorithms. This article shows the similarities and differences between chaotic cryptography and common cryptographic algorithms by describing the features with typical cases. Then, the security property and the potential of chaotic encryption systems are discussed based on the latest research advances. Further, some key issues are showed for the future investigation.
