中文摘要Resilient packet multi-ring networks are difficult to design and analyze without proper mathematical model when the model parameters can not be confirmed. A reliability model was developed for resilient packet multi-ring networks using a reliability function and MTTF (mean time to failure) function based on probability theory. The node distribution in the sub-ring is essential for system reliability. The optimal condition for a multi-ring resilient packet ring (RPR) network developed using Lagrange multipliers shows that the reliability is optimized by a uniform distribution. This principle can be utilized to design highly reliable RPR networks.
