中文摘要OEM(Original Equipment Manufacture)这个词在学术界和社会上都非常风行,在中国内地、香港和台湾都已普遍地被认定是指"原设计代工生产",甚至是"原配件制造"的产业模式。但英文OEM的字面解释和真正含意却并非如此,而是"原创性设备制造"。因为这一类具有原创价值的崭新"产品"的构造都较复杂,它们对技术的要求亦颇高,故才被称为"设备"(Equipment)。而OEM企业,还涵盖了"原设计制造"(ODM—Original Design Manufacture)和"原品牌管理"(OBM—Original Brand Management)等功能模式。"原设计代工生产"和"原配件制造"基本上就是错误的观念诠释,由其发展出来的理论实际根本无法实践,进而致使相当一部分从业者陷入迷雾,并令他们无法正确地掌握"后工业"时代技术升级和产业转型的关键策略。; O.E.M.(Original Equipment Manufacture) is a very popular terminology among the society and academy in mainland China,Hong Kong and Taiwan,where the term is often referred to as the"Original Design Manufacturing Service"or"Original Component Manufacture"business models,which is certainly not the literal and actual meaning of"Original Equipment Manufacture".The structure of such new product of innovative utility is often sophisticated,which requires higher technological skills to put together,so,it is also described as the"Equipment".The business function of O.E.M.actually covers that of the so called O.D.M.(Original Design Manufacture) and O.B.M.(Original Brand Management) business models.The incorrect interpretations of O.E.M.have induced some new theoretical thoughts,which are obviously impractical,confusing and misleading. The main damage done was that the already intricate Post-industrial situation becomes even more difficult for the manufacturers to understand,and that they are not able to grab hold of the effective strategy for technical uplifting and business development that may cope with the market change.
