; As a porous material, paper-based friction material's friction performance is closely related to its compressive properties including compression and resilience rate. The influence of different types and contents of fibers, contents of phenolic resin and porosity on the compressive properties of paper-based friction materials were investigated by compression-resilience test. The results show that lower compression ratio and higher resilience rate are caused by the increase of the contents fiber and resin, in which the influence of resin on compression ratio is larger than that of fiber, and the influence of fiber on resilience rate is larger than that of resin. Materials with ramie fiber or paper pulp-fiber are found to have lower compression ratio and higher resilience rate than materials with only aramid pulp, and materials with paper pulp-fiber have slightly higher compression rate and resilience rate than materials with ramie fiber. It is found that materials with higher porosity have higher compression rate and lower resilience rate.
