His nouvelle Red Broomcorn have been looked as the ending of “seeking root literature”, as well as vital origin and magnum opus of “neo-historical novel”. The method of depiction in Red Broomcorn had close relations with the theory discussing about the complicacy of character at that time. And the novel reflects the main change of the contemporary type theory, collapse of socialism-realism literature criteria. The tideway of Red Broomcorn and “neo-historical novel” have the obvious dialogic relations with the powerful criterion of “revolutionary historical theme” novel such as Flag Chart in the 1950s. The emotional and mazy history embodies the subversion and rewriting to the novel, whose topic is about history of revolution. At the same time, the reading of Red Broomcorn and the naming and explanation of “neo-historical novel ” phenomena is also a changing process of constant interpretation.
