中文摘要	面对日益汹涌的全球化大潮和即将到来的2008奥运会,目前北京大量的公示语翻译错误已严重影响了北京的国际形象．北京公示语翻译错误多表现为译语话语与原语话语语力不对等,进而导致话语意图传讯的失败,这尤其体现在公示语信息与表达形式的处理环节．因此,从事汉英公示语翻译应首先明确其语用目的,继而在明析信息的基础上做到合理表达,以减少翻译错误的发生．; With the fast pace of giobalization and the approach of the 2008 Olympics,people begin to worry that Beijing's international image could be contaminated by mistranslations of the Public Signs.The Chinese-English Mistranslations of Beijing's Public Signs stem from the unequal amount of illocutionary force of target language and source language,which leads to the failure of purpose communication.Translators could work more effectively if they take note of the pragmatic purposes,information and expressive forms of public signs.; 清华大学2006年度SRT项目《北京公示语调查研究》(062S0025)．
